I graduated from the Professional Master’s Level Acupuncture Program of the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, where I completed an intensive clinical internship. As a part of that program, I also completed an externship at the Beijing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine in Beijing, China. In addition, I have completed a Certificate of Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, Pennsylvania, and I have also earned Certificates in Acupuncture Sports Medicine and Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation. I am certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
I grew up in Korea, where Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine have a long history of use and are widely accepted as natural components of integrative medical treatment. All of my life, I have witnessed the amazing ability of Acupuncture to cure or manage many health issues without negative side effects. I have also studied medical Qigong and practiced meditation for many years and found these to be invaluable as tools for strengthening mind, body, and spirit. These life experiences finally led me to realize my long-time dream of becoming an Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner to educate and assist others on the path to greater physical and emotional well-being. I have successfully treated patients for back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia, digestive issues, allergies, stress, insomnia, addiction, menopause symptoms, infertility, various sports injuries, cancer treatment side effects, and many other conditions.
Before becoming an Acupuncturist, I received a BFA from Hongik University in Seoul, Korea, and an MFA from the University of Arizona in Tucson, majoring in metalsmithing and jewelry making. In addition to working as a studio artist, I have taught art and jewelry design at universities in the United States, Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, and my art work has appeared in exhibitions in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
